Aleksandra Masiuk, professionally known as Sashatattooing, is a world famous tattoo artist.

Pioneer of the floral tattoo style with her iconic peonies and mandalas, she has opened tattoo studios in several cities over the years, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Barcelona and Paris.
She also had studios in Moscow and St. Petersburg, both closed following the war between Russia and Ukraine in 2022.

In this exclusive interview with Tattoodemy, we explore Aleksandra’s journey, her artistic philosophy and the unique energy she shares through her work.

PERSONAL

When did you first notice the energy you share through your work?

I think I felt it from the very beginning, even before I fully understood it.

When I started tattooing, people would often say: “It’s not just the tattoo, it’s the feeling I get during the session.”

That’s when I realized I wasn’t just creating visuals, I was creating experiences. There’s a kind of energy exchange that happens when someone trusts you with their body and their story.

You mentioned that no one comes to you by chance. How do you feel this connection with your clients?

It’s something very intuitive.

Often, when a person sits in my chair, I already feel like I know what they need, not just the design, but the energy behind it.
There’s always a reason they chose me, and usually, by the end of the session, we both understand what it was.

It’s like a silent agreement between souls.

Do you have a routine to keep learning and growing, even after reaching success?

Yes, I never stop learning.

I constantly study new art forms, watch documentaries, travel, read, and surround myself with people who inspire me.

Success isn’t a finish line, it’s a process.

I treat every project as a chance to evolve, and I often challenge myself to step into uncomfortable zones creatively; that’s where the real growth happens.

How did you turn “SASHATATTOOING” into a brand that’s not only famous worldwide but also deeply connects with people on a personal level?

I think it happened because I always stayed honest, with my art, with my story, and with my audience.

“SASHATATTOOING” is not just a brand, it’s a reflection of my journey.

I share the beauty and the struggles, and I think people connect to that. I also build spaces — not just studios — where artists and clients feel seen, safe, and inspired. That energy speaks louder than any marketing ever could. It’s my family.

Many clients and students say you change their lives. What impact do you hope to leave on the world through your tattoos?

I hope my work helps people feel more like themselves, more confident, more whole, more empowered.
Whether it’s through the art itself, the conversation we share, or the energy they take with them after the session,
I want every person to leave feeling something shift inside.

My biggest dream is to inspire others to live authentically and create from the heart.
